Munich, Germany, 29 October 2026

Munich-based agritech startup Greenda has been selected as a finalist in the Best AgriTech Startup category at the Expo AgriTech Innovation Awards 2026, recognising its work towards an AI-powered early-warning system for agricultural pests and diseases.

The nomination comes as Greenda prepares to showcase its technology at Expo AgriTech 2026, taking place on 4–5 November at FYCMA in Málaga, Spain.

Founded in Munich in 2024, Greenda is developing technology to help agricultural cooperatives and agronomists move from reactive pest management towards earlier detection, better-informed decisions and more preventive crop protection.

What problem is Greenda solving for agricultural cooperatives?

Every growing season generates valuable information. Agronomists document field observations, farmers report crop-health problems, and technical teams record pest activity, visits and treatment recommendations.

Yet much of this information remains scattered across WhatsApp conversations, spreadsheets, notebooks and disconnected systems. For cooperatives managing hundreds of plots, this fragmentation makes it harder to maintain a complete picture of crop health, coordinate technical teams and identify patterns over time.

Greenda addresses this challenge by bringing field observations, pest reports, photographs, treatment recommendations and plot histories together in one digital platform for cooperatives.

Designed around the daily workflows of cooperative technical teams, the platform helps agronomists spend less time managing information and more time advising growers and protecting crops. Each recorded observation also contributes to a more structured history of what's happening in the field, creating a foundation for future predictive intelligence.

How does Greenda's AI early-warning system work?

Greenda's finalist project, “An early warning system for pest and disease outbreaks, built on agronomist-confirmed field data from small and medium farms,” reflects the company's longer-term ambition.

By combining field observations validated by agronomists with environmental and historical data, Greenda is developing AI-powered models designed to identify pest-development patterns and anticipate emerging crop-health risks.

The vision is to turn individual field observations into broader agricultural intelligence, helping cooperatives recognise potential threats earlier and plan interventions before significant damage occurs.

Does AI replace the agronomist?

No. At the heart of Greenda's approach is one principle: AI should support agronomists, not replace their expertise.

While technology can help organise information, identify patterns and highlight critical pest-development windows, agricultural professionals remain responsible for evaluating conditions and making treatment decisions.

Why is Spain a strategic market for Greenda?

Spain plays a central role in Greenda's development, particularly in the citrus-growing regions of Valencia, Castellón and Murcia.

The company's work with Spanish growers and agricultural professionals focuses on understanding real field conditions, improving pest monitoring and developing technology that supports practical crop-protection decisions.

This approach has also attracted attention from Spanish agricultural media. Agronews Comunitat Valenciana recently highlighted Greenda's work in Spanish citrus production, including its ambition to use artificial intelligence to improve pest detection and forecasting.

Through closer collaboration with cooperative technical teams, Greenda aims to build solutions grounded in agricultural expertise and the day-to-day challenges of managing crop health.

Where can you meet Greenda at Expo AgriTech 2026 in Málaga?

As a finalist in the AgriTech Innovation Awards 2026, Greenda will join agricultural technology innovators showcasing their solutions at this year's exhibition. Greenda is one of three finalists in the Best AgriTech Startup category, alongside Water Management Solutions and PEO-SNT. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Greenda's pest-management platform and learn more about its vision for AI-powered early warnings.

Greenda will also present “The Early Warning System for the World's Food” on 4 November at 11:00 AM on the Demo Stage.

CEO and Co-Founder Chadi Nemr and Commercial Director Alex Savas will introduce the company's approach to combining agronomic expertise, field information and predictive technology.

The winners of the AgriTech Innovation Awards 2026 will be announced during the official ceremony on 4 November.
