Munich, Germany, November 8, 2026

Greenda, a Munich-based agricultural technology company building a pest prediction and pest management platform for agronomists and farmers, has been selected to compete in PITCH at Web Summit 2026, one of the world's leading technology conferences.

Web Summit takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 9–12, 2026, bringing together startups, investors, technology leaders and innovators from across the globe.

Greenda CEO and co-founder Chadi Nemr will take the stage on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, to present Greenda's vision: predicting pest outbreaks before they spread, so that crops are protected earlier, with fewer losses and less chemical input.

What is Web Summit PITCH 2026?

PITCH is Web Summit's startup competition, brought to you by KPMG. Selected early-stage companies present to an international audience of investors, industry experts and technology leaders.

In 2026, 105 startups were selected for the group rounds, with the strongest advancing to the semi-finals and final. Greenda is listed among them on Web Summit's official PITCH page.

What will Greenda pitch at Web Summit 2026?

Chadi Nemr will present Greenda's pest prediction model and the bigger idea behind it: crop protection that moves from reacting to damage to anticipating it.

Today, most pest decisions are made after a problem is visible in the field. By then, part of the harvest is already at risk, and treatments are applied broadly to contain it. Greenda's approach is to turn field observations and environmental data into early signals of pest pressure, so agronomists and farmers can act at the right moment, on the right plot.

Why does pest prediction matter for global food security?

Pests and plant diseases destroy a significant share of the world's crops every year. As climate change shifts temperatures and seasons, pests are appearing earlier, spreading into new regions and becoming harder to anticipate with traditional calendars and experience alone.

At the same time, agriculture is under pressure to use fewer chemical inputs. Predicting outbreaks earlier is one of the few ways to address both challenges together: protecting yields while treating only where and when it is needed.

Greenda believes that pest prediction will become core infrastructure for food systems, as essential to farming as weather forecasting is today.

How does Greenda's pest prediction approach work?

Greenda's platform connects the people closest to the crop, agronomists and farmers, and brings field observations, plot histories and treatment records together in one place. That structured, field-level data is the foundation for its prediction model.

  • Field data at the source: pest reports, photos and agronomist notes captured plot by plot.
  • Early warning: signals of rising pest pressure, so action can come before damage spreads.
  • Targeted crop protection: recommendations focused on the plots that need them, reducing unnecessary treatments.
  • Human judgment at the center: AI-assisted insights that support, not replace, the agronomist's decision.

Greenda already works with agricultural cooperatives and agronomists in Spain, which gives the model a grounding in real farm conditions rather than laboratory assumptions.
